100% Chardonnay. A stunning Chardonnay that is both reminiscent of reductive Burgundian winemaking and absolutely its own animal. The name is another intriguing reference, in their words: “In Canto X of Dante’s Inferno, the “pena de li eretici” is narrated – those who challenged the spiritual and temporal power of the Church. We pay tribute to them in the tenth wine produced by our winery.” Some flinty reduction and citrus on the nose, but a broad, giving palate with a surprising, herbal finish. Brilliant straw robe. Notes of moss and undergrowth on both the nose and the final palate that move this wine away from a classic Burgundian profile and towards something more unusual. Complex and savoury.
