Grapes grown in Treiso and faces Neive, this site has always been well-known for high quality Barbera production. The gentle slope of this part of the hill (“Piani” in Italian means flat) and the higher percentage of clay have created here a perfect soil for the Barbara variety. 100% Nebbiolo. Fermented and macerated in stainless steel with frequent battonage before aging in a mix of 50L oak casks and small barrique. A nose that is classically Barbaresco in its mix of tart cranberry and other red fruit, violets and other floral notes, with a background of herbal brightness. Intense ruby robe. Remarkably soft and silky at the opening, the tannins build up with a few sips to remind you that this is still Nebbiolo.
