This is another very simply made wine that reminds us how fantastic a grape Merlot is when treated right, and by “treated right” we mean “mostly left alone.” 100% Merlot from 30 year old organic lowyield vines, fermented with indigenous yeast and macerated with minimal punchdowns before aging in concrete tanks. A classic Merlot nose of redcurrants and black cherries. Bright red robe. Rich mouthfeel accompanied by juicy cherries, blackberries and a touch of spice with fine grained but present tannins on the finish. Pairs well with mushroom dishes, roast chicken, charcuterie, salmon, burgers.
