Pietracupa Rosso Toscano IGT 2021
A complex and dense expression of Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon, this is quieter and more subtle than the classic “Supertuscans”. 60% Sangiovese, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon. The nose is a subtle symphony of red and purple berries, spices and a touch of balsamic. Intensely brilliant ruby robe. The palate is full and enveloping, without being overly dense. Plums, blackberries and cranberries mix with leather and smoke. If this was a perfume it would be Tom Ford. Tannins are firm and acidity is present but no component overwhelms any other, a study in balance.
